BERLIN Bennie Fowler III Jersey , Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Wolfsburg remain in the hunt of Bayern thanks to the winner by Robin Knoche against Monchengladbach meanwhile Frankfurt' s 2-0 win increase Dortmund' s worries at the closer of the 13th round of Bundesliga on Sunday.

Robin Knoche' s 1-0 winner against Monchengladbach consolidate Wolfsburg' s second place in the standings by establishing a three-point gap to third placed Leverkusen. Monchengladbach suffered their third straight loss and slumped to 5th place.

The hosts caught the best possible start on home soil as the "Wolves" clinically broke the deadlock with their first chance. Monchengladbach' s goalkeeper Yann Sommer was unable to intercept Marcel Schaefer' s cross into the box so that Robin Knoche tapped in from very close range at the 12th minute.

Wolfsburg staged a well-positioned defence hence Monchengladbach had to wait until the 18th minute to create their first promising chance as Roel Brouwers tested goalkeeper Diego Benaglio with a free kick. "Wolves" goalkeeper Benaglio was again in the thick of things when he denied Patrick Herrmann the equalizer with 30 minutes into the game.

After the restart the "Foals" still lacked in ideas to overcome Wolfsburg' s bulwark meanwhile the hosts were unable to put the game beyond doubt with the second goal as neither Ivan Perisic nor Ivica Olic got their names on the scoreboards.

However, Wolfsburg recorded their 8th win of the season to sit seven points adrift of front runner Bayern while Monchengladbach suffered their third defeat in row to slip to the 5th place.

"It is hard. We conceded an early first half goal despite having a 62 per cent ball possession," Monchengladbach' s coach Lucien Favre said.

Elsewhere, Frankfurt worsened Dortmund' s situation as their 2-0 win shove Juergen Klopp' s men on the last place of the standings.

Frankfurt caught a bright start on the road as Marco Russ assisted Alexander Meier with a through ball following a turnover. Meier utilized the chance and nutmegged Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller from 10 meters at the 5th minute.

Dortmund responded with furious attacks but either Frankfurt goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald was on guard when Henrikh Mikhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang unleashed their efforts or the woodwork denied, as Kevin Grosskreutz rattled the post following a rebound.

The host pressed frenetically but all their efforts remained unrewarded as Frankfurt' s Haris Seferovic capitalized on a moment of madness by Dortmund' s Matthias Ginter, whose return-pass header surprised goalkeeper Weidenfeller so that Seferovic poked home the 2-0 lead into the open goal at the 78th minute to make the game safe.

Dortmund suffered the eighth loss of the season to slump on the 18th place while Frankfurt jump from the 12th to the 9th place.

CANBERRA, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- A number of schools in the Australian capital city of Canberra have been forced to evacuate after receiving a bomb threat call earlier Tuesday, the Australian Captial Territory (ACT) police said on its Twitter account.

As a precaution, the schools were evacuated before midday Tuesday, the second day after the new school year started this week.

"Police are investigating the veracity of threats received by a number of ACT schools today. The schools are being evacuated as a precaution," the ACT police.

Lanyon High School, Forest Primary and Kingsford Smith School in Holt were first reported to have been temporarily evacuated. Two more schools, Richardson Primary School and Miles Franklin Primary School, were then added to the list of forced evacuation.

In the following hour or so, the schools have been cleared and students returned to school to resume their classes.

Meanwhile, at least three schools in Queensland were similarly evacuated on Tuesday following similar bomb threats.

On Monday, nine schools in New South Wales (NSW) state were in lockdown as precautionary police operations took place following an anonymous bomb threat.

Last Friday, several schools in NSW and Victoria received similar bomb threats which had been confirmed to be a hoax.

Victoria Police put out a statement Friday night saying "Victoria Police can confirm it is treating the threatening phone calls received by a number of Victorian schools today as a hoax."

"We are satisfied that there are no imminent threats to schools and that the threats are not terrorism related."

Police across the country have reiterated that making threatening phone calls is a serious criminal offense and the incidents will be fully investigated.

Meanwhile, investors were still digesting U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen's comments launched in a testimony before the Committee on Financial Services of the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday.

"With gradual adjustments in the stance of monetary policy, economic activity will expand at a moderate pace in coming years and that labor market indicators will continue to strengthen," Yellen said.

But she acknowledged that financial conditions have become less supportive of growth, "with declines in broad measures of equity prices, higher borrowing rates for riskier b.
